The Universal Declaration of Human Rights lists the basic rights
and fundamental freedoms of every living person on this planet.

Now that you are more familiar with the human rights that apply
to each and every one of us, lets take this thing a step further.

What is a global issue that you are concerned about?
A global issue might be defined as a matter of great social concern
that affects your local community and is shared by diverse societies
within our global community. We all see the world through different
eyes, so not everyone is going to have the same response to this
question. However, it is important to realise that many global issues
are closely related.
After you have thought about an issue:

Its time to step away from the computer for a bit.
Here's what needs to happen:
A share circle is the perfect way to learn off others and
share opinions. You are to discuss the following questions:
What are the most important global issues our
world is facing?
What is being done to help solve these issues?
Where does the idea of Global Citizenship fit
into all of this?

Instructions:
1) Sit together in a circle.
2) Nominate an item (eg. a pencil) as the speaking stick.
Whoever has the speaking stick has the power to
speak whilst the others must listen in silence.
3) You can only speak when you have the stick. When
finished with what you have to say, pass the
stick on to the person on your left.
4) Nominate a group spokesman to share the groups ideas
with the rest of the class.
It might be an idea now to have an open forum with the
rest of your International Youth Council class members..
